Extended Life, Lightweight, Cool, Low Power. The IntelliSign/DMS™ modules have been designed with brightly lit, highly reliable LEDs that are visible in bright sunlight from a distance
up to 1000 feet. The Displays have a modular architecture with a removable innerboard
for servicing and upgrading along with multi-range, wireless, intelligent receivers to process commands and data from remote sign controllers and IntelliCorr™ intersection modules. The IntelliSign/DMS™ modules provide critical feedback to emergency vehicle drivers, event parking and routing information, evacuation instructions, road side messages,
railroad crossing displays, school zone notifications, and Amber Alerts.
The fully programmable IntelliSign/DMS™ display board provides added capabilities that combine graphics and text for more comprehensive messaging which can be used for both emergency warning and public safety information. The IntelliSign/DMS™ modules are fully compliant with NTCIP and the DMS formats for receiving and sending commands and messages to the Signs.
All of the IntelliSign/DMS™ modules that are installed in intersections are controlled by the IntelliCorr™ module contained in the intersection traffic cabinet. Control and message selection commands are broadcast over a secure 418 MHz radio link to all of the Signs simultaneously.

Light-Weight Architecture
The IntelliSign/DMS™ consists of three components: Polycarbonate back shell, polycarbonate innerboard, and Lexan front shell.
The polycarbonate back shell contains UV protection and anti-hydrocarbon embedded elements. The Lexan front shell contains UV protection, anti-hydrocarbon, and anti-glare embedded elements. The back and fronts shells are permanently bonded together for a complete weather seal. All plastic components are warranted for 10 years against material breakdown and deterioration.
The innerboard component is designed for easy removal through a right or left weather-proofed, hinged door. All LED display panels are mounted to the innerboard along with post-regulated power supplies, scan controller, wireless receiver board, and dimmer circuitry.
The IntelliSign/DMS™ enclosure has provisions for mounting arms that allow vertical and horizontal installation
with ASTRO brackets or Z-BAR straps. The Sign can be mounted on mast arms, single poles or span wire.
The fully programmable DMS Display contains LED modular bricks (1024 pixels) that align directly to each other both vertically and horizontally to make up a display matrix. The DMS Displays provide automatic dimming (16 levels) under changing sunlight and nightlight conditions. Fully programmed graphics and text in any combination can be displayed across the full DMS sign.
Communications
When integrated with traffic control intersections wireless communications using 418 MHz radios is limited to 1000 feet to provide secure and separate communication channels. Each IntelliSign/DMS™ module is configured to interpret and decode the transmission for its location in order to display the appropriate DMS message or graphic image.
For dedicated or standalone IntelliSign/DMS™ installations, wireless communications over 900 MHz radios is an available configuration. This allows direct communications to the Sign up to ten miles from a remote control center for image and message download and storage in its non-volatile memory. Once images are stored they can displayed individually or scripted into a sequence.
All IntelliSign/DMS™ series are available with 2.4 GHz radios for 802.11 b/g, WiFi communications.
