Description & Function

The IntelliCorr™ is a multi-functional platform bringing unprecedented intelligence and capabilities to traffic control cabinets and traffic controllers. The IntelliCorr™ provides a LAN based network interface, a wireless network node, and a controller for integrating traffic management and safety peripherals. Designed to work with virtually all existing traffic controllers, the IntelliCorr™ allows communities to implement emerging safety management technologies while preserving their original traffic controller investment.

The IntelliCorr™ Intersection Modules are installed in traffic signaling cabinets and cabled to the traffic controller. They are embedded systems based on an advanced ARM microprocessor, GPS receiver, 900 MHz microwave transceiver, and 418 MHz transceiver.

 

The Intersection Module supplies optimized emergency vehicle preemption of signal lights and wirelessly transmits emergency warning messages to IntelliSign™ signs

Technical Details

The IntelliCorr™ Module constantly monitors the signal & pedestrian phases of the intersection and listens for low priority requests from transit vehicles and high priority requests from emergency vehicles broadcasting from IntelliTran™ Modules.

If low priority is configured on the traffic controller, a 6.25 Hz signal, at 50% duty cycle, will be asserted as low prioritization by the IntelliCorr™ Module on the preempt input of the controller that corresponds to the bus approach. If highway-rail priority is configured, high priority preemption inputs are asserted to the traffic controller.

IntelliCorr™ Modules easily configure to securely send DMS (Dynamic Message Sign) messages wirelessly to each IntelliSign™ at the intersection. These messages warn of transit vehicles approaching intersections, downstream messages of bus arrivals and bus scheduling details at bus stops.
