Description & Function
The TS-2070™ (TS-2070™) module is installed in a 2070 controller where it can seamlessly provide GPS synchronization
clocking to the controller. This is implemented by providing GPS NMEA string or an AB 3418 time message
packet to the controller over a serial connection that is calibrated with GPS accuracy. The TS-2070™ is modular and can be plugged into the 2070 traffic controllers. This capability provides for optimum use of the limited space available in the traffic cabinet.
The USB user interface of the TS-2070™ allows configuration
of times messages in hr/min/sec intervals. Up to 12 time messages can be configured per day. When time messages are transmitted to the 2070 controller the date is also sent to avoid synchronizing the controller to the wrong day. Power-up time messages
are configurable, along with time zone and daylight savings selections.

Technical Details
The TS-2070™ is a pluggable 2x module that is inserted into the rear of the 2070 controller
in the VME card cage area and powered from thePS1 connector on the 2070 power supply.
The TS-2070™ sends time synchronization strings to a wide range of 2070 controllers that support the AB 3418 or the NMEA protocols.
Specifically this includes the Siemens
2070 controller that uses NextPhase. As required by the AB 3418 protocol, the TS-2070™ uses the Type 2, Set Current Time command and the NMEA protocol uses the ZDA, Date and Time format.
A DB9 serial port connector is provided on the front panel that is used to connect to the 2070-7A module serial port.
The TS-2070™ module has five LEDs that describe activity and connections. Also, there is a reset toggle switch that is easily accessible from the front panel.
