Description & Function
The IntelliCON™ System is E-ViEW’S flagship product that encompasses an Intelligent Intersection Infrastructure
(I3) architecture integrating six functions: Traffic Prioritization, Integrated Corridor Management, Emergency Response, Public Safety Information, Disaster Routing and Backup Communications. This system includes the IntelliTran™ vehicle module, IntelliCorr™ intersection module, IntelliSign™ module, and the IntelliMon™ reporting module.
The IntelliCON™ System allows emergency vehicles, that are equipped with the IntelliTran™ module, to wirelessly
communicate with the IntelliCorr™ Intersection modules that are resident in the traffic cabinets. The IntelliTran™-equipped vehicle can communicate with the IntelliCorr™ from a distance of up to one mile. During a preemption occurrence this means that a preempt call can be sent to the controller so that the signals in the emergency corridor turn GREEN and the opposing signals turn RED resulting in a safe passage for emergency vehicles while simultaneously alerting non-emergency traffic. Concurrently with this operation the IntelliCorr™ transmits a 418 MHz signal to the IntelliSign™ to display a visual message for the preempted and non-preempted traffic.
This optimal deployment of emergency vehicles is accomplished by the seamless integration of the IntelliCON™ System in your Emergency Vehicle Preemption (EVP) environment. After your dispatch centers receive the emergency requests and the response team is deployed, several IntelliCON™ events quickly occur. First, the IntelliMon™ module records all incident data that is available for future analysis. Second, The IntelliCorr™ automatically calculates which vehicle will be granted a preemption request. This is followed
by the IntelliCorr™ module sending a preemption call to the designated controller.

Technical Details
IntelliCorr™
The IntelliCorr™ is a preemption module located in the traffic cabinet that interfaces with the intersection traffic controller to provide an integrated safety management system. The preemption capability is accomplished by using a multi-functional platform with a LAN based network interface, a wireless network node, and a controller
for integrating traffic management and safety peripherals. The IntelliCorr™ is based on an advanced ARM microprocessor, GPS receiver, 900 MHz microwave transceiver, and 418 MHz transceiver.
IntelliTran™
The IntelliTran™ module is a wireless transponder located in an emergency vehicle that automatically transmits
vehicle location, speed and direction to each IntelliCorr™-equipped traffic cabinet on the emergency corridor. The IntelliTran™ detection of a code condition & communications to the intersection are performed automatically when an emergency call is in progress. When performing emergency signal prioritization, IntelliTran™ provides accurate GPS position, real-time speed changes and turn signal indication to the nearest IntelliCorr™ equipped intersection to calculate the vehicle’s time-of-arrival.
IntelliSign™
There are two models of the IntelliSign™: VMS and DMS. The IntelliSign/VMS™ displays vehicle icons to denote the direction of traffic as it appears during a preemption sequence. The IntelliSign/DMS™ is a multipurpose,
fully programmable LED display that is designed to address both commercial applications and safety issues as outlined by Homeland Security and the Justice Department. Both IntelliSigns™ are approximately
as tall as a single traffic head and twice as wide, allowing them to blend in with the neighborhood yet highly visible when activated.
IntelliMon™
The IntelliMon™ module is a Microsoft Windows™ application that provides remote configuration & monitoring of the IntelliTran™, IntelliCorr™, and IntelliSign™ modules over the 900 MHz radio network. IntelliMon™ checks, every second, each vehicle for its operational status, GPS position, speed, vehicle type, agency, and service
status, along with the intersection signal & pedestrian phases during an emergency incident. IntelliCorr™ intersection modules are also checked for operational status and periodically, incident data logging is uploaded into the IntelliMon™ database.
IntelliNet™
The IntelliNet™ module is a radio extender for your IntelliMon™ module. This module gives you the option of extending your radio network by using a wireless or wired IP connection. Additionally this module provides the GPS connection for the IntelliMon™.
